Depok-Vocational Education Program Universitas Indonesia (UI) won the SILVER category plaque award for promoting creativity and commitment to carrying out plastic waste management activities.
This award was given by the UI in collaboration with PT. Dow Indonesia and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, as well as the Depok City Government in the highlight of a series of plastic waste management educational activities that were carried out during January-March 2021 in the UI environment which were held online on Wednesday, 31 March 2021.
In the top event, the winners of a series of previous competitions were announced, as well as awards for UI interns who were considered to have committed themselves to processing plastic waste at UI. Internal awards for UI are given in the Champion Plaswas category, which is an award given to faculties who are considered to prioritize creativity and commitment in carrying out plastic waste management activities. This award is given in three categories, namely Silver, Gold and Platinum.
The awarding of the plaque was carried out online by Haruki Agustina, Director of Contamination Recovery and Hazardous Waste Emergency Response at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. The big goal of the series of activities that took place from January to March is to provide education to the people around UI about how to manage plastic waste and utilize it into something of economic value.
