Depok-In today’s rapidly growing digital environment, the gen z population plays an important role in shaping communication and media consumption. Based on research data from the IDN Research Institute (IDN Media) in collaboration with Populix in a report entitled “Indonesia Gen Z Report 2022”, it is stated that the majority of gen z access social media for more than three hours a day. This shows that the media consumption pattern for gen z is relatively high. In order to receive insight regarding the good use of social media, students of Media Production, Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia (UI), conducted a company visit to PT Telkom Indonesia on December 8, 2023.

The visit opened with a presentation from Gapit Banuadi, GM PM Policy and Strategic Alignment PT Telkom Indonesia. He explained about opportunities and opportunities to work in the media and creative industry which requires important skills, namely Learn, Excel, Act, and Drive (LEAD). According to him, LEAD brings individuals to adapt, think critically, collaborate, improve the quality of networking, and implement it in society, especially gen z.

Furthermore, students were also introduced to how to create a brand campaign. The campaign is carried out starting from determining objectives, introducing the audience, defining key messages, determining media that suits the brand, to final evaluation. This was conveyed by Arby Yasin, Corporate Brand and Communications Officer at PT Telkom Indonesia.

No less important, Reinhard Giofan, by.U Marketing Lead, talked about marketing through advertising. He believes that the most important thing in advertising is determining the target audience, and supporting it with the advertisement maker, the information used, and the media that will be used. From these various elements, the purpose of creating an advertisement will be known and growing brand awareness among the target audience.
