Depok-The first series in the Indonesian Sentul Series of Motorsport (ISSOM) touring car racing championship was held at the Sentul International Circuit (SIC), Bogor on Sunday, March 28, 2021. ISSOM 2021 competes for all classes, including the Indonesian National Championship Touring Car Race (ITCR) class of 1200, 1500 and 1600 Max. In this championship, Avila Bahar, who is a student of the Public Relations Study Program, Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia (UI), won National Champion in ITCR 1.5 Rd.1 with the Honda Racing Indonesia Team in Series 1 ISSOM 2021.
Avila managed to score the fastest time for the ITCR class Superpole 1500. He was able to finish the match in first place with a time of 23 minutes 54 seconds by relying on the All New Honda Jazz and beating other racers. This is his first year joining Honda Racing. Previously, he had won several championships, such as the first winner of the 2018 Honda Jazz Speed Challenge Promotion Class and the 1,600 cc ITCR in the 2019 Rising Class.
This ISSOM 2021 preliminary match takes place with a very strict health protocol escort where all racers are required to follow an antigen swab before entering the circuit and are required to wear a mask. No supporters and also media crews are allowed to attend the circuit.[:]
