Depok-Media Production study program, Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia conducted a company visit to the news television station, namely CNN Indonesia, on November 27, 2023. Located in the South Jakarta area, CNN Indonesia is a franchise of CNN International and is currently part of Trans Media Corp since 2014. CNN Indonesia’s target audience segmentation is the general public, political enthusiasts, and government observers. It was conveyed by Cinthia Karani, Public Relations for CNN Indonesia, when receiving a visit from students from the Media Production study program.

On this occasion, students were also introduced to the work process within CNN Indonesia. One of them, as stated by Wendy Firman, Senior Coordinator for CNN Indonesia’s coverage, is how to find news products through research from various digital media sources and collaboration with people in the local area or location of the incident. The presentation continued with the mechanism for preparing news that was suitable for broadcast and was given to the News Production Division by Mufthi Akbar from the News Gathering Division.
Not to forget, Alfian Rahardjo, News Anchor and Production & Talent Manager for CNN Indonesia, also explained the techniques for producing news. Starting from preparation, packaging of news production, to strategy and news that will be broadcast. Supervision of the news production that will be presented by the News Production Division is carried out by The Row division.

Ngurah Rangga Wiwesa, M.I.Kom., Head of the Media Production Study Program, said that this industrial visit invited students to see firsthand the work process in the world of journalism. “This company visit will provide experience to students who will later enter the world of digital journalism. “I hope that students can absorb various new insights from industry practitioners who participated in this company visit,” said Rangga.
The company visit activity closed with a question and answer session to CNN Indonesia practitioners. Apart from that, students also have the opportunity to do an office tour within the CNN Indonesia environment.
