Depok-Coinciding with the commemoration of National Children’s Day on July 23, the Universitas Indonesia Vocational Relations Student Association (HM Vokhum UI) held a PR Crayon (Creative Charity to Keep The Young Shine On) program with the theme “I am Independent” at the Panti Asuhan Yatim dan Dhuafa Yasmin, Depok. PR Crayon is an annual social service activity for students of the Public Relations study program, UI Vocational Education Program, which aims to develop the creativity and skills of children in orphanages. These activities include material presentations, guidance sessions, mini games, to talent shows that are packaged in an interesting and fun way.

In this activity, the children from the Yasmin Orphanage were invited to sharing session about the goals they wanted to achieve. Apart from that, UI Vocational students also prepared a variety of entertainment, such as a puppet show, competition for answering profession guessing quizzes, to talent performances from the children of the Panti Asuhan Yasmin. The talent show is in the form of marawis music and the martial arts of pencak silat.

Rahmat, as the caretaker of the Panti Asuhan Yatim an Dhuafa Yasmin, said that PR Crayon activities motivated and encouraged children to learn to achieve their goals. “We thank UI Vocational students who have held positive activities like this. We hope that this activity can continue to become a positive routine for UI Vocational students,” said Rahmat.
The PR Crayon program also raised donations that collected up to IDR 1,878,845 to be handed over to the Panti Asuhan Yatim dan Dhuafa Yasmin through a digital fundraising platform. In addition, UI Vocational students also donated various writing tools to the children of the Panti Asuhan Yatim dan Dhuafa Yasmin to use as their school’s supporting needs.

Mareta Maulidiyanti, S.Sos., M.M., Head of the Public Relations Study Program, supports the positive program carried out by HM Vokhum UI. According to her, this activity provided many benefits and assistance to friends from the Panti Asuhan Yatim dan Dhuafa Yasmin. “Hopefully this social service activity will be memorable for us as well as the Panti Asuhan Yatim dan Dhuafa Yasmin. In the future, HM Vokhum UI will carry out social service activities like this to share love and concern for others,” concluded Mareta.
