Depok-After previously won the National Level Competition, Putu Surya Putra Atmaja who is a student of the Occupational Therapy Study Program, Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia (UI) again got achievements in the sports field. He managed to bring home a silver medal at the Dandrem 052 Wijayakrama Cup National Championship which was held in the framework of the 25th Anniversary of Korem 052/Wkr. Located in the Tangerang Sport Center, the championship was attended by around 1,800 participants from six provinces.
In the championship, Putu won in the category of Kyorugi Putra Under 68kg. He told that the competition this time was quite memorable because many athletes from various regions. During the match, he claimed to have to develop a defense and attack strategy for approximately one minute.

“The training that I did for the competition this time was very intense. For two months from September to October, I continued to practice and maintain health to perform optimally during the match,” said Putu.
Putu is one of the athletes from the Student Activity Unit (UKM) Taekwondo UI who has competed several times carrying the UI name. As at the end of May, he managed to got a silver medal at the Kejuaraan Dewan Guru Taekwondo Indonesia (DGTI) Taekwondo Championship 2023. He hopes that his achievements can encourage other students to participate in fighting the name of UI, both at national and international levels.
Director of UI Vocational Education Program, Padang Wicaksono, S.E., Ph.D, gave appreciation for the achievements achieved by Putu at the end of last October. According to him, the achievements of students can not only be obtained from the academic field, but also non-academic, one of which is sports.
“This achievement will be a pride for UI to continue to create potential people in various fields, both academic and non-academic. UI Vocational always support their students to participate in various competitions at various levels. I hope other students can follow in the footsteps of Putu to always excel in their respective fields,” said Padang.
