Depok-In line with the goal of the Universitas Indonesia (UI) as a world class university, the UI Vocational Education Program contributes through various international activities. This time, the Occupational Therapy study program started the odd semester of the 2022/2023 Academic Year with a student exchange program for Mahidol University, Thailand students. Present in the program, Lect. Supatida Sorasak, lecturer from Mahidol University, along with two final year students, namely Nichapa Luchutassakul and Jongrak Aungsuwirun.

Student exchange program will take place during the period 5-30 September 2022, after being delayed due to the pandemic that has limited mobility between countries. Mahidol University students will take part in a series of programs related to the scientific enrichment of occupational therapy, both in class and laboratory practicum. “Students will also have the opportunity to explore the experience of implementing occupational therapy services at the Vocational Wellness Center (VWC) Clinic and the Rumah Sakit Universitas Indonesia (University Hospital). While Lect. Supatida Sorasak will share her knowledge and experience with UI Vocational Occupational Therapy study program students,” said Gunawan Wicaksono, A.Md.OT., S.K.M., M.Si., one of the lecturers of the UI Vocational Occupational Therapy study program.

In addition, the student exchange program also paved the way for research collaboration between UI and Mahidol University, especially in the field of Occupational Therapy. The Director of the UI Vocational Education Program, Padang Wicaksono, S.E., Ph.D, said that the collaboration opportunities that existed between UI and Mahidol University were expected to expand, not only in the student exchange area, but also in other areas such as research, teaching, and inbound-outbound lectures programs.

“We opened a collaboration program with other study programs between UI and Mahidol University. So, the partnership between UI and international campuses can continue to be established and get stronger and build good relations between countries,” said Padang.
