Depok-Office Administration study program, Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia (UI) held a company visit to the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI) on September 4, 2023. During the visit, the students were accompanied by permanent lecturers from the Office Administration study program, namely Radityo Kusumo Santoso, S.I.A., M.M.; Mohammad Ridha, S.Sos., M.Si.; Istiadi, S.E., M.M., M.Si.; and Mila Viendyasari, S.Sos., M.Si. This activity is one of the implementations of the curriculum which focuses on practice in the Office Administration study program, by inviting students to visit the industry and see the work flow.
The Head of Office Administration Study Program, Radityo Kusumo Santoso, S.I.A., M.M., said that one of the lessons that Office Administration students need to do is managing an archive. He explained, “Archive management is one of the competencies that graduates of the Office Administration study program need to have. Experience at ANRI can be a provision for students when they later enter industry as practitioners who focus on administrative activities.”

On this occasion, students were given presentations by several ANRI archivists, namely Handi Suryadi, A.Md., Astuti Rahayu, S.ST.Ars., and Sari Diana, S.H. The material provided is about the creation, management, maintenance and destruction of archives. Students are expected to be able to apply this knowledge so that archives managed by an organization can be stored properly and in accordance with the provisions issued by ANRI.
The visit was continued with a tour of the ANRI environment. Students are invited to see and experience archive management directly based on exposure to the material explained previously.
The Director of the UI Vocational Education Program, Padang Wicaksono, S.E., Ph.D, supported the industrial visit activities. According to him, company visits are a forum for students to learn about industry directly. “This experience will broaden students’ insight so that they understand the work flow in industry before they eventually become industry players themselves when they graduate,” said Padang.
