Depok-Students of the Multimedia Broadcasting study program, Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia have just conducted an industrial visit to a television station in Indonesia, Metro TV on May 24, 2023. The visit was accompanied by a Multimedia Broadcasting practitioner lecturer, Bayu Oktara. The company visit program is one of the programs held by UI Vocational to introduce students to the world of industry. The program is also part of the learning experience for students before carrying out work studies and internships.

During the visit, Multimedia Broadcasting students were invited to see Metro TV’s work process. Accompanied by Metro TV’s Public Relations team, students conducted an office tour to various work spaces at Metro TV, such as the Technical Operation Center, News Kitchen, and Digital Media. Not only that, Multimedia Broadcasting students also had the opportunity to see the behind-the-scenes work processes of the Hot Room program hosted by Hotman Paris Hutapea.

Head of the Multimedia Broadcasting Study Program, Arius Krypton Onarelly, M.Si., said that the company visit activity was aimed at giving students experience in experiencing the work processes that occur in the industry. “Multimedia Broadcasting, which focuses a lot on television and radio media, will try to produce graduates in the media field that meet the needs of the industry. Through the industrial visit program, students directly learn a lot from practitioners who work in this field,” said Arius.

Towards the end of the visit, Multimedia Broadcasting students also had the opportunity to hear sharing from Metro TV news anchors, Jason Sambouw and Faizal Fardiansyah, about their journey to becoming news anchors.
