Depok-Sri Paduka Mangkunegara X, Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran Adipati Arya (KGPAA) Bhre Cakarahutomo Wira Sudjiwo from Mangkunegaran Surakarta, delivered a lecture at the Vocational Education Program at the Universitas Indonesia (UI) with the theme “Proud to Be Indonesian”. On this occasion, Sri Paduka Mangkunegara X said that there were many things being done at Mangkunegaran Solo to invite the younger generation to participate in preserving Indonesian culture.
The current development of digital technology makes it easier for the Mangkunegaran to align the cultural mission carried out by the Mangkunegaran so that it is more attractive to the younger generation in recognizing culture, especially Javanese culture. “We are making it an opportunity that must be maximized,” said Sri Paduka who is also an alumni of the UI Faculty of Law, on March 27.

According to Sri Paduka Mangkunegara X, the presence of digitalization facilitates access to branding for Pura Mangkunegaran in disseminating Javanese customs and culture. The impact of digitalization can be seen from the increasing number of tourists, which reach 300-400 people on weekdays, and more than 1,000 people during the holiday season.
Apart from that, several programs were held to invite the younger generation to get to know culture, such as music events, sports, and even works of art whose packaging was customized to the tastes of the younger generation. “We try to introduce them to Mangkunegaran, until finally they are interested in learning and have enthusiasm for culture,” said Sri Paduka Mangkunegara X.
Mangkunegaran Temple is included in a tourism destination that is often visited by the public. Apart from its heritage, some revitalization was also carried out there. Among other things, Pracima Park or Pracima Tuin which is in the Mangkunegara Temple Complex, Solo, which was inaugurated by the Indonesian Minister of State Owned Enterprises on Saturday, January 21, 2023.
Sri Paduka said, the role of the Mangkunegaran Temple was not only to spread culture, but also to collaborate with various scientific fields to build a more advanced Indonesia. The most important thing in maintaining the integrity of the nation and state is to continue to develop without forgetting the roots or foundations that are in accordance with Indonesian national values. One of them is the implementation of Pancasila values that need to be applied by the younger generation.

UI Vocational Deputy Director for Education, Research and Student Affairs, Deni Danial Kesa, MBA., Ph.D, in his remarks representing the director, said that the public lecture activities were aimed at the community, especially UI Vocational students and the younger generation, to be proud of being a nation.
