Depok-Music trends in Indonesia are currently continuing to increase. Various genres, musicians, music groups, singers, and collaborations between musicians are always ready to entertain the public every day. This music is also supported by various music platforms that are increasingly easy to access, such as Spotify, YouTube Music, Apple Music, JOOX, and others. The increasing trend in music has made many musicians compete to create their best works. The Media Production study program, Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia (UI), which has a course in the field of music, also provides teaching that focuses on the music production process.

On November 23, 2023, students from the Media Production study program made an industrial visit to Believe Music Indonesia, a digital music company that develops independent musicians and labels in Indonesia. In 2020, Believe launched KithLabo as the first Artist Services brand in Indonesia and focuses on working with various independent musicians. Its role is to provide services in the form of maximizing innovation, data, technology and digital marketing for independent musicians. Some of the names of musicians who have collaborated with Believe Music Indonesia include, Idgitaf, Sal Priadi, Yura Yunita, RAN, TheOvertunes, GANGGA, The Panturas, Lomba Sihir, and others.

Together with practitioners from Believe Music Indonesia, Haruchika Setiadi, A&R Talent Scout Manager, and Andy Arya, Senior Country Director from Tunecore, Media Production students were provided with knowledge about music distribution and business methods in the music world. They also explained that the development of the music industry in the digital age has made it easier for musicians to express their work and present it to the general public.

Head of the Media Production Study Program, Ngurah Rangga Wiwesa, M.I.Kom., who also accompanied the students on the company visit activity, said that Media Production students would gain a lot of new knowledge about how to produce music. “In the music production process, there are many aspects that need to be considered. For example, marketing strategies, promotional programs, and copyright matters. “Through this company visit program, students will learn in depth about the creation of musical works,” explained Rangga.
