Depok-The Blood Donation and Health Care Movement (Gedor Jagat) program organized by a number of Vocational Education Program student associations, Universitas Indonesia (UI) received a positive response from local residents. The collaborative program between the Hospital Administration Student Association, Accounting Vocational Student Association, Physiotherapy Student Association, and Occupational Therapy Student Association was carried out at the Jami Abdullah Mosque, Villa Kalisari Housing Complex, East Jakarta in early August. In carrying out this program, they also involved the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) as medical personnel who helped with the blood transfusion process. Not to forget, local youth organizations were included in the program to facilitate and assist the blood donation process.
Registration for Gedor Jagat participants is open online from July to August, as well as direct registration on site. Of the fifty registrants, 36 participants met the requirements and successfully donated blood. This activity aims to increase public awareness of the importance of blood donation, become a community facilitator, and meet the need for insufficient blood supplies after the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Director of the UI Vocational Education Program, Padang Wicaksono, S.E., Ph.D, supports the positive activities carried out by the UI Vocational students. He explained, “The social activities carried out by UI Vocational students are a form of community service. Programs like this are very important to help PMI provide sufficient blood supplies to maintain public health and safety.”
Yuan Maharsih Kusuma Dewi (51), a resident of Kalisari, expressed her gratitude for the Gedor Jagat program carried out in her neighborhood. “I appreciate the positive activities carried out by UI Vocational students. “I hope that the blood donated by Kalisari residents can be useful for people in need,” she said.
