Depok-Creative Business Study Program, Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia (UI) held a guest lecturer lecture entitled “Building Agile Organizations through the Lens of Human Resources” in a hybrid manner on March 20, 2023. The guest lecturer’s lecture presented Hendra Etri Gunawan, Head of Academy (GM Level) Amartha, as a guest speaker and guided by Risca Fleureta Hudiyono, M.S.M., a permanent lecturer at the Creative Business study program, as the moderator.

“Currently, millennials are facing the VUCA era, namely Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity. This era is described by conditions of rapid change which are influenced by many factors that are difficult to predict and control. Changes in a competitive environment are characterized by technology demand, pandemic situations, gen Y, and gen Z. So, to achieve an agile organization, the current generation must be able to adapt quickly and continue to innovate,” said Hendra at the start of his presentation.

Furthermore, Hendra stated that these changes affected the increasingly complex jobdesk as HR. “HR is expected to be able to communicate to prepare solutions for the direction of company development. HR not only utilizes its resources as capital, but can also build and develop these resources,” said Hendra.

The recruitment process cycle begins with preparing job advertisements via LinkedIn and other job portals. Then, the stage of sourcing and screening CVs, as well as social media for prospective employees. After the screening process is carried out, the next stage is selecting through assessments, interviews, and others. In this stage, the company also provides offers regarding salary determination, insurance, and other benefits. The last stage is onboarding after the signing of the contract by the prospective employee.

HR currently generally uses a framework with the concept of how to attract employees with the stages of Attraction (Reputation, Employee Value Proposition, Experience), Recruitment, Onboarding, Separation, and Development. “Companies need to build their best image in the eyes of the public through a good work culture, a place for employees to grow, and positive branding. So, employees will be proud to work for their company,” said Hendra.
