Depok-Media Production Study Program, Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia (UI) inbound lecture as a series of Master Class Media Production titled “Indonesia Future Creative Talent: How to Be Learning Agile?” on April 7, 2022 virtually. This inbound lecture invites Alvin Hadiono, Ph.D (Cand.), AFHEA, SHRM-SCP, Adjunct Lecturer University of Glasgow as speaker and guided by Ngurah Rangga Wisesa, M.I.Kom., CICS, Head of the Media Production Study Program.

The concept of agile or agility is one of the attitudes that everyone needs to have today. Significant and uncertain changes that occur in the world, not only need to be supported by innovative, creative, and other attitudes, but also flexibility, adaptability, agility to deal with these changes. Based on the 25th Annual Global CEO Survey conducted by PwC in early 2022, it is shown that Indonesia is predicted to be one of the countries where business optimism will increase. “The survey was carried out before the Russian invasion to Ukraine. In two months, massive changes occurred again. This shows that we as individuals must be prepared to experience such quick changes,” Alvin explained.

The balance between consistent and adaptive attitude is not only necessary to have individuals, but also the organization. In carrying out daily activities, the organization must hold a predetermined standardization. However, it must also be open to new innovations that might happen.

Alvin added, “Learning to be agile is a condition when someone faces new habits very quickly and flexibly, trying to find feedback, and adjust to a carefully. Many new science obtained from doing something that we previously found out.”

There are nine-dimensions that someone who has a talented person or has an agile attitude, namely 1) flexibility to new ideas; 2) speed facing an idea; 3) experimenting by trying new things; 4) performance risk-taking; 5) interpersonal risk-taking; 6) collaborating; 7) information gathering; 8) feedback seeking; and 9) reflecting.

“To self-development, someone can learn through two principles. First, through learning models 70:20:10, with 70% informal experience at work, 20% socialization with other people, and 10% formal and informal education. Second, learning through something new, relevant, and challenging. Everyone can develop according to their respective learning methods, but the desire to learn in reudes that determine these developments,” Alvin explained.
