kusnarKusnar Budi serves as a lecturer in Administration studies in FISIP UI began in 1989. Early in his career, he became an assistant lecturer for several courses, among others: Public Policy, Industrial Relations (Employment Relations), Human Resources Development; Organizational Behavior and Management Principles. Prior to that, he worked as an announcer / reporter and Elshinta Radio and TOP FM Jakarta (1987-1994). In 1989, he applies for a job (position Broadcaster / Reporter) on Radio Netherlands Worldwide in Hilversum-Holland, and also he applied to be a Lecturer of Administrative Sciences. After that, he got the job as a Lecturer in FISIP UI received; while the Netherlands application is late to be accepted by the Selection Committee. Since then, he started teaching students of Bachelor of Administrative Sciences. He worked at FISIP in the morning and broadcast on Radio Elshinta / FM TOP Jakarta in the afternoon. He worked at 2 jobs to support his wife and two children at that time. In 1990, he got the status of permanent lecturer after obtaining service training. His career in Radio station had increased to Program Manager, and finally General Manager (1991-1993) who had brought him to the United States, and study in several radio stations and production houses in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

In 1994, he received a scholarship AusAID Scholarship (formerly AIDAB) from the Australian government for the Master of Business Management (MBus) at La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia and also doctoral degree at Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia. After finishing master’s degree, he was appointed as a Secretary of the Department of Administrative Sciences (1997-2001). In 1998, he began serving an Instructor Training and Simulation Bank in Diploma Program on Financial and Banking Administration. His assignments in Banking laboratory (collaboration between D3 Program Administration FISIP UI and Lippo Bank) was executed after following the Training the Trainers in Karawaci Lippo Bank. He also served as Secretary of Graduate School in Administration Science FISIP UI (2000-2004). Furthermore, in 2011 he was appointed as Head of the Financial and Banking Administration in vocational education program UI. He got the rare opportunity to be one of the four facilitators for the Program of Transformation Leadership in Indonesia 3rd (2013) held at the Ministry of Internal Affairs Jakarta, and at the campus of Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard University, Cambridge, USA, with 40 participants from Regent / Mayor and Chairman of Bappeda from all over Indonesia. This program is collaboration between Ministry of Internal Affairs and HKS Indonesia Program which sponsored by the Rajawali Foundation.

He was also following some seminars such as Banking Industry in an Extremely Dynamic World: Becoming Prosperous and Proper. He also organized LPS, Jakarta, Indonesia (2012). He was a steering committee at the PPIA Conference, the VOISE of Indonesia Future Leaders, Melbourne, Australia (2008). He attended the Workshop on Good Governance as a facilitator, with the participants from the students of Master of Public Administration; Flinders University, Adelaide, Australia (2004). He followed Workshop on Productivity Strategy for Public Sector Enterprises as one of the presenters, in Dhaka, Bangladesh, sponsored by Asean Productivity Organization (2004). He also got the opportunity to teach for one semester in LA Trobe University, Australia for a number of Indonesian Studies courses followed by the students of Business Management; Politics and International Relations and the Australian Teachers who teach Language and Culture of Indonesia (2000). He was one of the members of Research Team in Department of Administrative Sciences FISIP UI to learn about One Village, One Product-Movement in Oita Prefecture Japan, sponsored by the Japan Foundation (1998)
