Depok-Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia (UI) received a visit from the Universitas Indonesia’s Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Technical Management Unit (UPT K3L UI) on June 19, 2024. The visit was carried out as part of monitoring and evaluation activities routinely carried out by UPT K3L UI to all faculties. Present at this activity was the UPT K3L UI team, namely Dr. Ir. Sjahrul M. Nasri, M.Sc. (Head of UPT K3L UI); Yuni Kusminanti, SKM., M.Si. (K3 Management Coordinator); Qanita Fauzia, SKM., MKKK. (Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene Management Coordinator); Devi Partina W., SKM., MKKK. (Fire Prevention and Emergency Response Management Coordinator); and Haryo K., S.Si., M.Si. (Environmental Management Coordinator).
The activity began with remarks from the Deputy Director for Resources, Ventures and General Administration, Priyanto, S.S., M.Hum. In his speech, Priyanto expressed his deep appreciation for the full support from the UPT K3L UI for the progress of the UI Vocational HSE team. “We are fully aware of the important role of HSE in an organization. Creating a safe and comfortable work environment is our priority. We really appreciate the full support provided by the UI HSE team so that Vocational HSE gets better from day to day,” said Priyanto.

On this occasion, the UI Vocational Manager of General and Facilities, Ridwan E. Kartiwa, S.IP., M.Si., also explained and introduced the UI Vocational HSE team and the achievements of Vocational HSE during 2023. Ridwan revealed that the entire Vocational HSE team those in charge are obliged to ensure that all activities comply with applicable HSE regulations and standards, regularly provide education to increase awareness about the importance of safety, health and environmental sustainability, and hold regular training for all students and education staff regarding HSE practices.
As a result of this commitment, continued Ridwan, several achievements can be achieved by the UI Vocational HSE team including achievements in occupational safety management, occupational health and industrial hygiene management, fire and emergency prevention management, and environmental management. “These achievements include routine and periodic activities that we carry out, such as earthquake emergency response training and simulations, providing education on plastic and liquid bottle waste management in the UI Vocational environment, carrying out Vocational canteen inspections, conducting HSE inductions, and others,” said Ridwan.

On the same occasion, Assistant Manager for HSE, Cleanliness/Maintenance of Facilities and Infrastructure, Ike Rahma Vindra, S.A.P., also explained the implementation of the HSE management system at UI Vocational. Ike said that implementation was based on four documents, namely guidelines, POB, work instructions and forms. Through this document, all facilities, facilities and infrastructure at UI Vocational are managed optimally. “We continue to ensure that all HSE supporting facilities at UI Vocational are always ready when needed and maintained on an ongoing basis. The management we carry out is to ensure that the safety cupboard is always fully stocked, as well as oxygen cylinders, wheelchairs and first aid kits that are always ready if an emergency needs to be used,” said Ike.
At the end of the activity, the Head of UPT K3L UI, Dr. Ir. Sjahrul M. Nasri, M.Sc., expressed his appreciation for the HSE commitment carried out by Vocational UI. “As we all know, implementing HSE in an organization has a positive impact and helps maintain the sustainability of the organization. These impacts include increasing productivity because the work environment is safe and comfortable, reducing the risk of work accidents, improving the organization’s reputation, and fulfilling legal obligations. Hopefully UI Vocational will continue to maintain, or even increase, its commitment to implementing HSE,” concluded Sjahrul.
