Depok-Vocational Education Program of the Universitas Indonesia (UI) and CX Insight., Ltd. agreed to sign a collaboration in the academic field in the form of internship opportunities for students in Australia. Delegation from UI Vocational, consisting of Education and Student Affairs Manager, Pijar Suciati, S.Sos., M.Si.; Head of the Media Production Study Program, Ngurah Rangga Wiwesa, M.I.Kom., CICS; and Head of the Public Relations Study Program, Mareta Maulidiyanti, S.Sos., M.M. also attended the CX Insight office in Australia to initiate the collaboration program. CX Insight is a consulting firm with specialists human computer interaction (HCI), user interaction (UI), user experience (UX), and data design.

Pijar said that international internships were one of UI’s performance targets, including UI Vocational, so the program needed to be maximized. “We hope that this internship program in Australia can start in Odd Semester 2023/2024 by the Media Production, Public Relations and Creative Advertising study programs,” said Pijar.

The Director of the UI Vocational Education Program, Padang Wicaksono, S.E., Ph.D, supports the collaborative program established between UI Vocational and CX Insight. He hopes that the international scale internship program can provide new experiences for UI Vocational students. Padang said, “In order to be able to compete at the international level, UI Vocational students will be equipped with a curriculum that focuses on practice. So, the knowledge received during internships abroad can be useful and applied in Indonesia.”

The internship program will be carried out for one semester and can be part of the Independent Campus Freedom to Learn (MBKM) program launched by the previous government. The internship system is in the form of a project carried out between students and CX Insight. The exact duration of stay in Australia can range from two to sixteen weeks depending on the needs and project that are undertaking.

Dr. Eunice Sari, Co-Founder of CX Insight, welcomed the planned internship program. “Students can learn about work processes in this industry and experience working in an Australian environment, especially in Perth. Apart from Australia, we also have CX Indonesia which can also be collaborated with other collaboration programs,” said Eunice.

The UI Vocational Education Program, as one of the vocational tertiary institutions in Indonesia, continues to strive to improve the quality of its education to meet industry needs. Activities in the international sphere continue to be developed, as well as networks with industry and practitioners continue to be expanded.
