Depok-As an effort to further establish a position at the international level, the Universitas Indonesia (UI) delegation under the leadership of the Rector Prof. Ari Kuncoro, S.E, M.A., Ph.D., made a working visit to the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Bern and several partner universities in Switzerland and the Netherlands, on June 4-13, 2023. This working visit was carried out to follow up on the collaboration and signing of the MoU between UI and the partner universities there as well as discussing some of the latest information that had been submitted. In addition, this activity also aims to review the potential, facilities, and readiness of partner universities which will later be involved in future collaborations.

During a visit to Switzerland, the UI delegation visited the Indonesian Embassy in Bern to show UI’s commitment to strengthening and expanding the potential for future academic and research engagement. In addition, the UI delegation also visited the International Management Institute (IMI) and the Swiss Federal University for Vocational Education and Training. In the meeting at IMI, an agreement of implementation was signed for the double degree program in hospitality management as well as the master program in that field. This collaboration was signed directly by the CEO and Director of Partner Schools, Professor Gavin R Caldwell and the Director of the UI Vocational Education Program, Padang Wicaksono, S.E., Ph.D.

On a visit to the Netherlands, Prof. Deddy and drg. Nurtami held a discussion related to the MoU between UI and Delft University of Technology. In this activity, a joint presentation was also held with representatives of the Delft University of Technology. This is to encourage scientific and technological cooperation between researchers at the two institutions through joint research project funding in order to produce impactful research.

Apart from visiting the Indonesian Embassy in the Netherlands and Delft University of Technology, the UI delegation also visited Leiden University in order to follow up on the collaboration that had been carried out previously during Leiden University’s visit to UI, May 11, 2023. Other universities visited were Vrije University, Groningen University, Netherlands Forensic Institute, SIMtoCARE, KITLV, and Utrecht. During the visit, UI and partner universities not only agreed on cooperation in the research sector, but also in the double degree and student exchange programs.
