When presenting the presentation, Prof. Ratna stated that UI has been moving towards the OBE curriculum since 2009. Outcomes that have an impact on society are the main points in achieving the curriculum. Prof. Ratna said, “Vocational education which focuses on practice shows that the OBE curriculum needs to be created so that students understand the things they learn in college, so that when they enter industry they will provide benefits that can be felt directly by society.”

Apart from that, international accreditation is a must for study programs in all faculties, schools and program within UI. Prof. Hartati said that graduates from UI will compete on an international scale, so it is necessary to measure the value of the international standard education provided by UI. “Education abroad also adheres to the OBE curriculum system, so it is important for lecturers to take part in training like this to improve their quality as educators, both for teaching and research collaboration with universities abroad,” said Prof. Hartati.

Through this training, Padang hopes that lecturers can evaluate courses in their respective study programs to see the potential and innovation that can be developed to suit industry needs. In addition, the curriculum developed can also be collaborated across study programs and even with overseas partner campuses.

“We continue to strive to improve the quality of graduates so they are able to compete on the global stage. One of them is the participation of UI Vocational students who successfully passed the selection for the 2024 Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) as many as 92 people for the full funding scheme and 4 people for the co-funding scheme. Apart from the theory received in class, students will also gain new experiences through education abroad to apply when they enter the industrial world after graduating,” said Padang.
