DEPOK – The Vocational Tourism Student Association of the University of Indonesia has held a public lecture and workshop with the theme “Creation of Modified Weaving for Young Tourism” on Wednesday, October 10, 2018. This event was held in the Intraco Vocational room of the University of Indonesia by inviting resource person Pepen Predin as the manager of the woven village and also the residents of the woven village. This activity is an annual work program organized by the Cultural Arts Division of the Vocational Tourism Student Association of the University of Indonesia with a different theme every year.

This Public Lecture and Workshop began with the provision of material by Pepen Predin regarding the creation of woven weaving modifications from bamboo. Pepen explained what creations can be made from woven bamboo and if young people can be creative in managing woven bamboo, it will become an expensive item. Then continued with a question and answer session for the participants. Not only that, this activity also introduces creations produced in the weaving village, then how to manage them until they become items that can be used such as rice baskets. This public lecture and workshop activity was ended by entertainment from 2017 Tourism students who sang several songs and the participants also participated in singing.
