Depok-Universitas Indonesia Public Relations Vocational Student Association (HM Vokhum UI) held a social service activity with orphanage children through a program entitled PR Crayon (Creative Charity to Keep The Young Shine On) with the theme “Playing, Singing, and Creating”. PR Crayon is an annual program of HM Vokom UI which has various forms of activities related to arts and culture to train creativity and art of children in orphanages.
PR Crayon has been running for the last two years offline. The forms of activities carried out are material presentations, quizzes, mentoring sessions, to talent shows. In this year’s event, HM Vokhum UI visited the Al Hayya Orphan and Dhuafa Orphanage, Depok, West Java, last Saturday, July 23, 2022. The Chief Executive of PR Crayon, Syafa Dwiarsa Prasida, said that the activity was held to coincide with National Children’s Day. “This program aims to give appreciation to children also to express a sense of concern for guaranteeing children’s rights to live fully in accordance with human dignity,” she said.

During the activity, the enthusiasm of the orphanage children was very high when they took part in the quiz competition. They also gave a performance in the form of a series of poetry readings from four children. On the same occasion, the symbol of the delivery of basic necessities and donations was also given to the orphanage management.
Previously, HM Vokhum UI had opened donations through the Kitabisa.com platform with a total donation of IDR 2,104,000. “We are very grateful to everyone who donated and provided support for this activity. We also hope that this activity can provide benefits to the orphanage children so that they continue to be enthusiastic about learning and working,” said Syafa.

Pijar Suciati, S.Sos., M.Hum., Manager of Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni of UI Vocational, said, “UI Vocational always support student organization activities that are beneficial to the community. We hope that these activities can continue and become an example for other student organizations.”
