Depok-The Universitas Indonesia (UI) Vocational Education Program remains committed to promoting an environmentally friendly campus environment through sustainable transportation policies. This commitment is outlined in Director’s Decree No. 79/SK/F14.DV/UI/2023 concerning Transportation Policy within the UI Vocational Education Program, which regulates the use of emission-free vehicles for the academic community.

This policy represents a concrete step by UI Vocational in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to Sustainable Cities and Communities and Climate Action. This effort also aligns with the UI GreenMetric vision, which places sustainability as a key indicator of modern university development.

The implementation of this policy is evident within the UI Vocational campus. A growing number of academics, including lecturers, administrative staff, and students, are now switching to using emission-free vehicles, such as personal electric vehicles or those provided by UI. The presence of these environmentally friendly vehicles is evidence of the growing culture of sustainable transportation within the UI Vocational.

“Using emission-free vehicles is not just a lifestyle, but also a form of our responsibility as part of the academic community to maintain air quality, reduce our carbon footprint, and create a greener campus. Furthermore, we are committed to encouraging the academic community to use emission-free vehicles,” said Padang Wicaksono, S.E., Ph.D, Director of the UI Vocational Education Program.

Through this policy, UI Vocational hopes that all academics can play an active role in creating a more environmentally friendly transportation culture, supporting energy efficiency, and improving the quality of life on campus.
