Depok-The Family Women’s Association (IWK) of the Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia (UI), held a Zumba Exercise and Health Seminar “Beautiful and Prime with the Right Nutrition” on May 7, 2025. The activity was attended by Shinantya Ratnasari as a resource person and Zin Ayes as a zumba instructor. Located at the UI Vocational Tennis Court, the fitness activity was attended by the administrators and members of the UI Vocational IWK. In addition, there was a free basic health check for members of the UI Vocational IWK.

On that occasion, Shinantya revealed that a healthy diet is a behavior of consuming food with sufficient and balanced nutritional intake to meet the physiological needs of the body. “The criteria for a healthy diet is to consume a variety of types of food according to ideal portions. For example, complex carbohydrates, animal and vegetable proteins, vegetables, fruits, and sources of healthy fats,” said Shinantya.

After the seminar, members of UI Vocational IWK were invited to do physical exercise in the form of zumba exercise. The Chairperson of UI Vocational IWK, Dewi Anggraini Padang, explained that the seminar and zumba exercise activities were carried out to raise awareness among UI Vocational IWK members to prioritize physical exercise which provides many positive benefits. “Lack of activity and physical exercise can cause disease. Through this activity, we hope that every member of UI Vocational IWK will get various benefits, such as improving heart and lung fitness, burning calories and fat, relieving stress and improving mood, and maintaining bone and muscle health,” said Dewi.

The implementation of regular sports activities held by UI Vocational IWK is one form of implementation of several points of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Starting from SDGs point 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), which is improving physical fitness and mental health; SDGs point 5 (Gender Equality), which is empowering women in groups to be more active and independent in maintaining health; to SDGs point 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), which is encouraging the use of public spaces in a healthy and productive manner.
