Depok-The Occupational Therapy study program in the Vocational Education Program at the Universitas Indonesia (UI) held the 2025 Occupational Therapist Professional Oath as a manifestation of the university’s commitment to producing professional healthcare workers with integrity and preparedness to enter the world of healthcare. The ceremony took place at the UI Vocational Auditorium on December 9, 2025 and was attended by alumni of the Occupational Therapy study program, class of 2021.
This event was led directly by the Director of the UI Vocational Education Program, Padang Wicaksono, S.E., Ph.D, and witnessed by the Chairman of the Central Executive Board (DPP) of the Indonesian Occupational Therapists Association (IOTI), Mahrus As’ari, S.Tr.Kes., MKM., Head of the Occupational Therapy Study Program, Hermito Gidion, A.Md.OT., M.Psi.T., a number of lecturers, and clergy who led the oath-taking according to their respective religions.

In his remarks, Padang stated that the professional oath is the first step in accepting the significant responsibility inherent in the occupational therapy profession. “The professional oath affirms moral and professional commitment. Today’s participants will represent UI Vocational in the community. They must demonstrate ethics, competence, and dedication in every healthcare service,” Padang said.
Padang also emphasized that UI Vocational continues to strengthen its practice-based curriculum, industry partnerships, and job readiness so that graduates are able to meet the dynamic needs of the modern healthcare sector.
Echoing Padang’s sentiments, Mahrus also offered a message to the 2021 Occupational Therapy graduates. Mahrus said, “Professionalism is born from knowledge, but grows through dedication. We hope that today’s oath-takers will become occupational therapists who are not only competent but also empathetic and ready to face the challenges of the healthcare world.”

Setelah proses sumpah, acara dilanjutkan dengan pembacaan nama peserta dan penampilan persembahan dari mahasiswa Terapi Okupasi angkatan 2024. Melalui penyelenggaraan ini, Vokasi UI berharap para lulusan dapat terus meningkatkan kompetensi, menerapkan etika profesi dengan teguh, serta memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam peningkatan kualitas pelayanan kesehatan masyarakat.
“Their academic journey has shaped their resilience, knowledge, and clinical sensitivity. This professional oath affirms their commitment as future healthcare workers,” Dion concluded.
