Depok-The Vocational Education Program Universitas Indonesia (UI) has just inaugurated the Vocation Wellness Center (VWC), which is a health service center that focuses on physiotherapy and occupational therapy. This service is intended for UI residents and the general public. Health services provided at VWC include speech therapy, acupuncture, sensory integration, baby massage, snoezelen/relaxation therapy, and other therapeutic services.

The VWC was opened to meet the needs of the community and at the encouragement of various parties, especially when the community was in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic situation. Currently, VWC is collaborating with the Rumah Cerebral Palsy community, which is a community of parents who have children with cerebral palsy. This is done as a form of UI’s real contribution, namely by providing free therapy services for patients from the community. In one day, VWC can receive 4 to 5 patients from Rumah Cerebral Palsy.

The Director of the UI Vocational Education Program, Padang Wicaksono, S.E., Ph.D, gave full support for the operation of the VWC. “I hope that the health services provided will increase and continue to grow so that the community can also receive the benefits of good health services from the Vocation Wellness Center,” said Padang.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the implementation of health services was carried out with strict health protocols in accordance with directives from the government. Patients who want therapy can register via the link bit.ly/DaftarKonsulVWC. Then, the patient will be contacted to confirm the consultation and assessment schedule. After that, the patient will be asked to attend according to the previously agreed consultation/assessment schedule and the patient will receive a therapy program from professional staff according to their needs.

Head of VWC, Aditya Denny Pratama, SST.FT, M.Fis., conveyed several patient complaints that often arise during the pandemic, such as nervous disorders, bone disorders, muscle disorders, and others, which can happen to anyone. “Health services from VWC are not limited only to adult patients, but also to pediatric patients, for example, complaints such as: pre-school readiness, children’s growth and development disorders, children’s communication and social interactions, and other complaints,” said Denny.

Services at VWC are provided by professionals in their respective fields, namely from lecturers in the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy study program at the UI Vocational Education Program. In addition to being a place for health services in the field of therapy, VWC is also a place of learning for students of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy, UI Vocational.

The Vocation Wellness Center is located in Room 104, 1st Floor, Building C, Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia, UI Depok Campus. The schedule for health services operates every Monday to Friday at 09.00-15.00 o’clock.
