Depok-Two students from the Financial and Banking Administration study program, Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia (UI) succeeded in bringing home two winning trophies from the national level competition, namely the UKI Banking Competition 2024. They are Wisnu Hardianto, first winner in the general content creator category, and Karin Viola Br Sembiring who won second place in the customer service category.

Banking Competition 2024 is a competition that provides students with the opportunity to learn, innovate and improve their skills in facing the challenges of digitalization in the banking and financial industry. Some of the categories in the competition include general and regional language content creators, singing, high school/vocational and tertiary essays, Mobile Legends, high school/vocational and tertiary quizzes, customer service, teller, and grooming. All winners from each category were announced on June 3, 2024.

According to Karin, in the competition she participated in, she did a roleplay as a customer service officer at a bank. “On this occasion, I was tasked with serving customers who wanted to open accounts, complain, and close accounts, as well as various other customer service tasks. I deepened the duties of a customer service based on learning in the Customer Service Practice course. Not only learning the duties and functions of a customer service person, students also practice by looking like a professional customer service person,” said Karin.

Meanwhile, Wisnu, who won first place in the general content creator category, said that the concept of the video he presented was “Educational Literacy on the Importance of Maintaining Financial Reputation”. The content was created based on knowledge and experience when studying the Introduction to Economics course in class.

“The content contains an invitation to the public to manage and maintain their financial reputation by recording every expense, avoiding debt, making a budget plan and sticking to it, as well as investing for the future. I hope that the content I create can inspire more people, especially regarding good personal financial management,” said Wisnu. Apart from studying economics, Wisnu also has a passion and has made achievements in the field of photography and videography since he was in high school.

Director of the UI Vocational Education Program, Padang Wicaksono, S.E., Ph.D, appreciated the achievements that Karin and Wisnu had achieved. According to him, the implementation of learning in class can be done through participation in competitions.

“The competition that Karin and Wisnu take part in will directly have an impact on society, both through customer service, which is one of the competencies that Financial Administration and Banking students will apply when they graduate, as well as video content that has messages that have a positive impact on people’s finances. I congratulate Karin and Wisnu on this achievement,” said Padang.
