Depok-Rector of the Universitas Indonesia (UI) Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU., guarantees that every student accepted by UI, especially in the regular program, will not experience obstacles in pursuing education due to financial problems. He said that the determination of the Single Tuition Fee (UKT) for the Regular Undergraduate Program and the Vocational Education Program is adjusted to the socio-economic background data of the parents/persons responsible for the education costs.
“For regular program students, we must be able to guarantee that their UKT is in accordance with their abilities and is fair,” said Prof. Heri after being officially inaugurated as UI Rector for the 2024-2029 period at the Purnomo Prawiro Multipurpose Hall, UI Depok Campus, on December 4, 2024.
He added that various mechanisms have been developed by UI to address this. UI has implemented a policy of determining the amount of UKT education costs fairly based on data and evaluation results of the ability of those responsible for paying education costs. To that end, UI has divided the determination of UKT into 11 groups, starting from the lowest rate of Rp500,000 to the highest reaching Rp20,000,000.
Furthermore, Prof. Heri said, in addition to determining fair UKT, UI will also seek scholarships for students in need so they can survive while studying at UI. “If there are UI students in regular classes who are unable to afford it, please inform us immediately. If there is anything missing,” said Prof. Heri.
Information regarding UKT rates for UI Undergraduate Program and Vocational Education Program students of the 2024 intake, whether accepted through the Achievement-Based National Selection (SNBP), Test-Based National Selection (SNBT), or Independent Selection (PPKB, Achievement Path, SIMAK) can be seen on the page ukt.ui.ac.id.
