Depok-Two Universitas Indonesia (UI) students have won the Best Outstanding Undergraduate Student and Best Outstanding Diploma Student awards in the Regional Most Outstanding Student Selection (Pilmapres) at the Higher Education Service Institution (LLDikti) Region III Jakarta 2025. They are Josia Nathanael Wiradikarta from the Faculty of Medicine and Darren Benardy from the Occupational Therapy Study Program, Vocational Education Program. The awards were announced on July 9, at Universitas Katolik Indonesia Atma Jaya, Jakarta.
Josia and Darren passed the rigorous 2025 Pilmapres assessment process at the LLDikti Region III level. Their proposed ideas outperformed other students in both the Creative Ideas (GK) and Innovative Products (PI) categories. The jury deemed their ideas to reflect creativity, bold thinking, and the potential for real contributions to society.
Acting Head of LLDikti Region III, Tri Munanto, S.E., M.Ak., stated that the final selection for the 2025 Regional-Level Pilmapres is a crucial step in selecting the best representatives from campuses in the Jakarta region. He stated, “Whatever the outcome, it represents the best selection from LLDikti Region III. To those who were not successful, do not be discouraged, and to those selected to represent at the national level, I hope you will continue to deepen the input from the jury and spread the spirit of achievement to other students on your respective campuses.”
The judging process, conducted by a panel of judges, lasted two days for both programs. For the undergraduate program, assessments included self-descriptive posters and creative ideas, assessed for originality, usefulness, analytical acumen, and communication skills. For the diploma program, assessments focused on self-descriptive posters and innovative products, assessed for originality, usefulness, potential for downstream product development, and the participant’s ability to convey ideas systematically and communicatively.
UI Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, assessed that Josia and Darren’s achievements not only prove their readiness to compete at the national level, but also demonstrate UI’s commitment to producing superior human resources who have an impact on society. He hopes that their victory at the LLDikti level can motivate them to develop the ideas and projects they have created, until they are successful in bringing home the title of National Outstanding Student.
In addition to Josia and Darren, on that occasion, the Head of the LLDikti Learning, Student Affairs, and Achievement Working Team, Dian Rusdiana, S.Pd., M.Pd., also announced other students who represented and advanced to the national selection stage. For the undergraduate program, they were represented by Sandi Pamungkas (Universitas PERTAMINA), Jade Audrey Homenta Rampengan (Universitas Katolik Indonesia Atma Jaya), and Kayla Felicya Chen (Universitas Trisakti). Meanwhile, for the diploma program, they were represented by Adelio Shatara Nugraha (Universitas Negeri Jakarta) and Eugenia Ariella Santoso (Institut Pariwisata Trisakti).
