The Student Association of the Tax Study Program of Universitas Brawijaya held a national level tax planning competition which took place in the Hall of Building A, 4th Floor, University of Brawijaya Malang and was supported by Integral Business Solutions (IBS) and DDTCNews. This tax planning competition is a competition that is contested for students who have tax knowledge to manage the payment of taxes owed so that tax expenses are minimal without violating applicable tax laws. The competition event which was held for three days was held on November 12-14, 2016, and was attended by 22 teams from various universities in Indonesia who were selected with a fairly strict selection. Among them are from the Vocational Program of the University of Indonesia, Trisakti University, Petra University, STIESIA, Unika Soegjapranata, STIE Perbanas, STIE Balikpapan, STAN State Financial Polytechnic, Telkom University and Brawijaya University. On the first day, Thursday, a national technical meeting and seminar on tax amnesty was held. On the second day, Thursday, the competition took place in 4 stages including multiple choice, self assessment, running tax and merger stages. At least 10 teams managed to qualify to take part in the semifinals which were held the next day. Furthermore, on the third day, Friday, the semifinal round is divided into 3 stages, namely, the tax board, the tax district, and the gambling tax. This round managed to pass 5 teams to enter the final round which was held on the same day. This tax planning competition was quite fierce, considering that the participants had equally good tax competence.
