Depok-The Media Production study program, Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia (UI), received a visit from Studio Visual Dart, a well-known game studio from South Korea. The visit, which was received on October 24, 2024, discussed the potential for collaboration between Visual Dart and UI Vocational, as well as opening up internship opportunities for students who want to develop a career in the game industry.
Visual Dart, a game company that was founded in 2001, has collaborated with various companies and handled more than 550 game projects on various platforms, including PC, console, VR, and mobile. Some games that are also handled by Visual Dart are Overwatch and Dota 2. Visual Dart has also opened an official representative office, one of which is in Indonesia, which is one of the places and opportunities for UI Vocational students to do internship programs.

Deni Danial Kesa, Ph.D, Vice Director of Education, Research, and Student Affairs of UI Vocational School, introduced OX-Lab (Promed Game Xperience Laboratory), a laboratory where Media Production study program students conduct learning activities, to Visual Dart representatives. In addition, the leading laboratory also supports the development of student skills in the field of game development. “In this laboratory, students develop various games, from the planning stage, development, to release. The work process carried out by these students also becomes an implementation of learning in the classroom, especially in developing a game,” said Deni.

Furthermore, the opportunities for cooperation that will be explored between Visual Dart and UI Vocational open up various collaborations, including in the form of teaching, game production, and internship programs for students. This visit is expected to strengthen the synergy between the academic world and industry, as well as open up opportunities for students to experience firsthand the experience of working in the international game industry.
