Depok-Creative Business study program, Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia (UI), directs its students to be capable of carrying out transformation and innovation in the business world by being equipped with the ability to realize their ideas in the form of a product. Responding to this challenge, through the Visual Communication Design course, Creative Business students held an exhibition of the product design ideas they created. The exhibition entitled “BizCreation” will be held on June 5-6, 2024 in a number of areas at UI Vocational.

Director of the UI Vocational Education Program, Padang Wicaksono, S.E., Ph.D, said that a curriculum that focuses on practice is the main focus in learning carried out by UI Vocational students. Various creative and functional ideas from students can be applied into a product and have selling power. Padang explained, “We continue to strive to provide the best education to students to compete in the industry later. Apart from that, the various works created by students can have benefits felt directly by society.”
Not to forget, this activity also featured Lukman Benjamin Mulia, CEO of Cretivox, through a seminar attended by students entitled “Great Business Experience of Creative Business for Gen-Z”. Benjamin said that the creative industry needs a lot of innovation and fresh ideas from the younger generation. According to him, the participation of the younger generation in business is really needed in order to target products to the target market which is currently dominated by generation z. “I invite students to try participating in making creative works. The first step in making a product is researching market needs. So, the products they market will be suitable and accepted by the public,” explained Benjamin.

The BizCreation activity recorded eighteen businesses from each group that were exhibited with their respective uniqueness and product characteristics. In fact, the three best business ideas received appreciation for the products they made, namely Batiksentials, Blush Crush, and Candleir. Head of the Creative Business Study Program, Hadining Kusumastuti, S.Sos., M.S.Ak., said that BizCreation activities are one of the components of student final exam assessments. Hadining explained that every student is challenged to present and test their creative ideas in public before entering the industry later. “BizCreation activities are the starting point for starting the journey of developing existing business ideas so that they are more ready to use and worthy of being marketed in real terms in society.” closed Hadining.
