Biography
Peny Meliaty Hutabarat, S.Sos., M.S.M., or commonly called Penny Hutabarat, graduated from the Communication Studies program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Indonesia in 2007. After completing her studies, Penny started her career at PT. Austindo Nusantara Jaya Agri, a subsidiary of PT. Austindo as assistant corporate secretary. She then decided to continue her master’s studies at the Universitas Indonesia in the Management Science study program, specifically marketing communication, Faculty of Economics. She graduated in 2012 with her scientific work on the topic of music & entertainment marketing. This scientific work was successfully presented at an international conference in the field of Economics and Business at Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea and published in 2014 in the South East Asian Management Journal.
Her career in the field of public relations & marketing communication has developed since working as Head of Public Relations at the Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Indonesia in 2009-2019. Her interest in teaching began in 2011. She teaches communication at several universities, including the Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia. In 2019, Penny began joining as a permanent lecturer at the Multimedia Broadcasting study program, Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia.
