Depok-Buleleng Regency is one of the areas in North Bali that holds a lot of beautiful and attractive tourism potential for tourists, both domestic and foreign tourists to visit. Some tourist locations that can be optimized, for example Lovina Beach, Gitgit Waterfall, Penimbangan Beach, West Bali National Park, Menjangan Island, and others. Not only nature, culture, and history tourism, the area also has 75 tourist villages, as well as 8 tourist villages that qualify for the top 500 of the 2022 Indonesian Tourism Village Award (ADWI), namely Les Village, Giri Emas Village, Julah Village, Munduk, Sudaji Village, Bondalem Village, Sambangan Village, and Panji Eco Village.
Seeing this potential, the Vocational Education Program and the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (UI) collaborated to provide socialization and education related to the introduction of the Smart Tourism Village concept to support sustainable tourism in the Buleleng Regency area on Thursday, August 18, 2022. The community service activity focuses on the use of digital media to promote tourist areas in the North Bali area.

Anisatul Auliya, SST.Par., M.Par., one of the lecturers who is a community service team, said, “Digital media can be a forum that has a big impact on the target market of the tourist village. Ease of access in obtaining information is also something that needs to be considered in the use of digital media. We provide assistance in the form of a new website to one of the tourist villages, namely Les Village, which can be developed to optimize the promotion of the tourist village.”
The website has a variety of general information that can be accessed by tourists. The various uniqueness of the tourist village and the tourist activities that are served to tourists in the Les Tourism Village area are also presented on the website, so that it can make it easier for tourists to find information related to tourist activities in the Les Tourism Village area before visiting the tourist village. In addition, the socialization of financial governance using digital media was also presented by a lecturer from FIA UI, namely Dr. Milla Septiana Setyowati, S.Sos., M.Ak. and Indriani, M.A. The activity, which is supported by the UI Directorate of Community Service and Empowerment, is carried out in collaboration with various interdisciplinary disciplines at UI to provide more macro benefits in the community service area.
The implementation of the community service activities received a good response from the Head of the Buleleng Regency Tourism Office, Gede Dody Sukma Oktiva Askara, S.Sos., M.Si. He said, “The activities held by UI have had a good impact on various villages in the Buleleng Regency area. A total of 28 representative participants from each tourist village participated in the activity.”

One of the participants, Putu Sinar Jaya who is a representative from Sidetapa Village, expressed a good impression of the community service activities. “We got a lot of new knowledge given by UI on the development of our tourist village. This training opens up new insights that can be applied in the Sidetapa Tourism Village. I hope that this training can be held again in our village, in the rural areas of Bali Aga SCTPB (Sidatapa Village, Cempaga Village, Tigawasa Village, Pedawa Village, and Banyuseri Village),” he said.
