Depok-Amidst rapid global change marked by technological advancements and digitalization, the banking sector remains the backbone of global economic stability and growth. From the ancient era of bartering goods to the emergence of modern, fully digital banking systems, this industry has continuously evolved to meet the needs of the times. However, behind this progress lies a long history that has formed the strong foundation of today’s financial system.
Based on the recognition of the importance of understanding the past to build the future, the 2025 National Banking Competition (NBC) returns as a competitive and learning platform for students from across Indonesia. Organized by the Financial and Banking Administration study program, Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia (UI), this event serves as a platform for self-development that balances academic and non-academic aspects.

Carrying the theme “Tracing the Past, Shaping the Future of Banking”, NBC 2025 is not just a competition, but a means to foster a spirit of innovation, critical thinking, and cross-field collaboration through four competition categories, namely Roleplay Teller, Business Model Canvas, Futsal, and Solo Vocal. This year, the academic competition was attended by 13 teams in the Business Model Canvas category and 20 participants in the Roleplay Teller category. Meanwhile, the non-academic category was attended by 19 teams in the Futsal category and 14 participants in the Solo Vocal category, demonstrating the great enthusiasm of students from various universities in Indonesia. The implementation of NBC 2025 took place throughout October, starting from the preliminary round to the final. This series of schedules was designed to ensure that all participants could optimally demonstrate their best abilities.
Specifically, the two academic competitions, NBC 2025 Business Model Canvas and Teller Roleplay, are strongly relevant to the learning process in the Financial and Banking Administration study program. The competition material aligns with courses such as Entrepreneurship, Introduction to Management, and Transaction Service Practices, providing a concrete platform for students to apply their knowledge. Meanwhile, the non-academic competitions, Futsal and Solo Vocal, provide a platform for students to showcase their talents beyond academic competencies.

The Head of the Financial and Banking Administration Study Program, Vindaniar Yuristamanda Putri, S.I.A., M.M., stated that NBC is not just a competition, but also a very meaningful learning space for students. “Through NBC 2025, I hope all participants can take this experience as a provision to make a real contribution to the future of Indonesian banking,” said Vindaniar.

In the Business Model Canvas category, the Yes team from the Universitas Indonesia won 1st place, followed by the Siliwangi team from Universitas Siliwangi and Main Character Energy from Universitas Tidar. Furthermore, in the Roleplay Teller category, 1st place was won by Wita Nurmala from Universitas Siliwangi, 2nd place by Alia Miranti from Universitas Siliwangi, and 3rd place by Sella Salsabila from UPN Veteran Jakarta. In the Futsal category, Universitas Paramadina won 1st place, followed by IPB Vocational Futsal and Usakti Tax from Universitas Trisakti. Meanwhile, the Solo Vocal category crowned Damelia Winny from the Universitas Indonesia as 1st place, followed by Luciana Tjang from the Universitas Indonesia, and Clara Abigail from the Institut Kesenian Jakarta. As the Roleplay Teller Champion, Wita Nurmala said, “NBC 2025 is a valuable experience that further strengthens my interest in the world of banking services. I am proud to be able to give my best.”

Through a combination of academic and non-academic competitions, NBC 2025 is expected to be a platform for developing personal potential while shaping students’ character to be adaptive, competitive, and imbued with integrity. More than just a competition, NBC is a learning journey that prepares young people to make a real contribution to the Indonesian banking industry.
