Depok – Located at the Auditorium of the Vocational Education Program of the University of Indonesia, the UI Vocational (Venture) Institute and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) held an Aviation Day “Earn International Certification for Millennials to Leverage Competencies”. In this activity the IATA Authorized Training Center was launched, which is an international training and certification program in the field of aviation as a result of the collaboration between the UI Vocational Institute and the International Air Transport Association (IATA). This collaboration is expected to be able to produce Indonesian aviation that is certified to international standards and has global competitiveness. In addition, this activity also aims to introduce the aviation industry to the general public such as cabin crew, cargo, airport operations, ground handling, Ramp, Travel and Tourism, customer service, geography in travel planning, etc. The activity was attended by high school / vocational high school students, practitioners and general aviation and vocational schools. Present as speakers were Azhar Azahari, Asia Pacific Business Development IATA Regional Asia Pacific & Area Manager, Suprasetyo, Commissioner of Angkasa Pura Airport 1, Dwi Hendratno, senior manager of Garuda Indonesia Corporate Planning and Muhammad Hisyam, Head of the Sub Division of Evaluation and Development for Personnel, Organization, Secretariat General Ministry of Transportation Air Relations. Aviation Day was opened by the Director of the Vocational Education Program Universitas Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Ir. Sigit Pranowo Hadiwardoyo, DEA.

“The people who are students / studying today are the people who will be most influential when 100 years of Indonesian independence. For that we hope that vocational education and certification programs will be able to produce competent and competitive resources. “Said Sigit.

Head of the UI Vocational (Venture) Institute, Sandra Aulia explained that there are training offered, among others, related to airport operations, Air Cargo, Aviation Fundamentals, security, RAMP, etc., Sandra said that this certification is very good for a career in the international aviation industry, because this certificate is internationally recognized. .

“We would like to express our deepest gratitude for the support from IATA and aviation industry practitioners as well as the Government for the efforts of the UI Vocational Institute in carrying out its role as the IATA Authorized Training Center in Indonesia which has international standards in the field of aviation to support the improvement of superior and competitive human resources,” said Sandra. UI Vocational (Venture) Institute is a Special Work Unit in the Vocational Education Program Universitas Indonesia which has training, certification, applied studies and business consulting services.
