Depok-Coinciding with the month of Ramadan 1446 Hijriah, the Family Women’s Association (IWK) together with the Research and Community Service Unit, Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia (UI), held a community service activity in the form of providing assistance to orphans and the poor around Kukusan Village, Beji District, Depok City. The community service activity carried out on March 21, 2025 was carried out by the management of the UI Vocational IWK and a number of teams from the Research and Community Service Unit.

Chair of the UI Vocational IWK, Dewi Anggraini, said that this community service activity was a routine activity carried out in order to take advantage of the Ramadhan momentum. Dewi said, “We want to share happiness and build relationships so that orphans and the poor can smile happily. Hopefully, the assistance in the form of basic necessities that are distributed can be useful for those in need.”

More than 100 families in the Kukusan Sub-district also received basic food assistance. Some of the residents who received assistance were orphans, the poor, widows, and others. The Head of RT 2 RW 7, Kukusan Sub-district, represented by Rusdi, expressed his gratitude to UI Vocational for giving a little of his fortune to residents around the UI Vocational Education program. Rusdi said, “We really appreciate the activities held by UI Vocational. Hopefully the assistance that has been distributed can bring blessings and become a field of reward for UI Vocational Education residents.”

Research and Community Service Manager, Debrina Vita Ferezagia, S.Si., M.Si., said that community service activities carried out by UI Vocational are often spread across various regions. However, currently, community service activities in the form of distributing social assistance are given to local residents in need. “Through this Ramadan momentum, we are working together with UI Vocational IWK to carry out community service activities in the campus environment. This activity proves that simple and small assistance can have a big impact on the community,” concluded Debrina.
