Depok-The Tax Administration Study Program, Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia and the Indonesian Young Tax Community (IYTC) again held Taxaction 2021. “Taxaction activities are community service, by providing free consultation on taxes, particularly in terms of filling in the Annual Income Tax Return of Personal Income Tax (2020 Tax Year), ” said Amelita Lusia M.Si., Head of Public Relations and Information Office of Universitas Indonesia.
Taxaction activities received support from the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes West Java III for the placement of tax volunteers in several Tax Service Offices, namely KPP Pratama Ciawi, KPP Pratama Cibinong, KPP Pratama Cileungsi, KPP Pratama Depok Sawangan, and KPP Pratama Depok Cimanggis.
Head of the Tax Administration Study Program (Prodi), Arie Widodo, M.S.M., said that Taxaction seeks to provide education on tax awareness to the public regarding tax obligations that must be carried out on time so as not to receive a reporting fine of IDR 100,000.
“2021 is the 9th year Taxaction is held. In 2018, Universitas Indonesia’s tax volunteer received an award from Mrs. Sri Mulyani, the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, as a role model for the national pilot tax volunteer, which is currently also being carried out simultaneously throughout Indonesia at various universities. Every year, public enthusiasm is getting higher, “said Widodo.
Tax volunteers who provide consultation are Universitas Indonesia’s lecturers and fourth semester students. There are 55 tax volunteers for the 2021 Taxaction, with a support team of 27 people. Before the pandemic era, tax volunteers held roadshows to offices, but since 2020 consulting activities have been transformed into digital through the Zoom application.
“In a situation when we were still in the period of the Covid-19 pandemic, Universitas Indonesia, which in this case was carried out by the Taxation Study Program, still provided the best service for the public who had problems or had difficulty filling Annual Income Tax Return and E-Filing,” said Amelita.
“Apart from being aimed at Universitas Indonesia’s academicians through the faculties and administrative centers, we are also working with several companies such as PT Nestle Indonesia, PT Bukalapak, and Tanihub to serve Annual Income Tax Return reporting for employees and provide consultation for the general public,” said Widodo further.
To get this free consultation service, there are several steps that must be taken by taxpayers of the UI academic community and the general public. Taxpayers must first fill out the registration form at http://bit.ly/TaxAction2021-Umum. After that, they will be contacted via WhatsApp by a tax volunteer, while taxpayers of the Universitas Indonesia’s academicians can join directly at the zoom meeting ID that has been given per faculty. Taxpayers who have joined the zoom room are welcome to wait in the zoom waiting room; Taxpayers fill in the registration link listed on the zoom meeting title to determine the queue number (especially for Universitas Indonesia’s academicians); Taxpayers who will be conducting consultations will be allowed to enter the main consultation room.
If the taxpayer is not in the waiting room at the time of admission, the committee will contact the taxpayer personally; The committee will change the format of the name of the taxpayer according to the queue serial number; Taxpayers will be divided into several consultation rooms to consult with tax volunteer members.
