Depok-The Vocational Education Program of the Universitas Indonesia (UI) participated in the UI Open Days 2026 event held on Saturday and Sunday, May 2–3, 2026, at the UI Hall, UI Depok Campus. This event is UI’s annual open house event aimed at introducing the campus environment, study programs, facilities, and new student admission mechanisms to prospective students and the general public. Carrying the theme “Yellow Journey: Discover Your Vibe”, UI Open Days 2026 presents an inclusive and inspiring higher education exploration experience. This event lasted for two days with a division of scientific clusters, which began with presentations from faculties/programs/schools in the social humanities field on the first day, then continued with science and technology on the second day.

On this occasion, UI Vocational presented a booth with a creative and interactive concept inspired by the world of the game Roblox. The booth featured various unique characters wearing yellow jackets or UI alma maters, symbolizing the identity of UI students: dynamic, adaptive, and ready to create in various fields. This concept also represents the philosophy that every individual has the freedom to “build their own world,” in line with the spirit of vocational school, which emphasizes the development of practical skills and job readiness.

The booth’s ambiance was designed to resemble a Roblox map, with visual elements like clouds, colorful cubes, and an interactive “create your character” area that encouraged visitors to actively participate in the exploratory experience. Various educational games were also featured, such as the 1-Minute Talk Challenge, Skill Challenge, and Spin the Blox, designed to introduce the study program in a fun way while also fostering interaction with visitors.

Furthermore, visitors could wear UI alma maters for photos and write down their hopes of continuing their studies at UI Vocational School. This activity was a key attraction, strengthening visitors’ emotional engagement with the institution. The UI Vocational booth attracted hundreds of visitors, including prospective new students, parents, and teachers from various schools. The high level of enthusiasm was evident in the visitors’ active interaction, participating in games, consulting about study programs, and attending presentation sessions.

Interestingly, the entire booth decoration was designed using various recycled materials such as cardboard, rope, used paper, dacron, and other unused materials. This initiative aligns with UI Vocational’s commitment to supporting the UI GreenMetric program and contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the aspects of responsible consumption and production (SDG 12) and action on climate change (SDG 13). This approach demonstrates that creativity can go hand in hand with environmental awareness.

In addition to booth activities, UI Vocational also actively introduced various study programs through presentation sessions delivered by Coordinator of Public Relations, Khairunnisa Devani Aqtus Permana Putri, M.I.Kom. In the presentation, comprehensive information was provided regarding entry routes, study program options, tuition fees, internship opportunities, international opportunities, as well as various advantages of vocational education that are oriented towards competency, work readiness, and industrial cooperation partners.

Vice Director of Resources, Ventures, and General Administration, Titin Fachriah Nur Anwar, S.E., M.M., CA., who was also present at the UI Vocational booth, said, “UI Vocational participation in UI Open Days 2026 is an important momentum to show that vocational education does not only focus on technical skills, but is also able to provide innovative, creative, and relevant learning experiences with current developments. Through interactive concepts like this, we hope prospective students can better understand the potential and advantages of UI Vocational as a future education choice.”

Through this participation, UI Vocational hopes to continue to increase public understanding of vocational education and attract the interest of the younger generation to develop skills and competencies that are in line with future industry needs.
