Depok-A vibrant and cheerful atmosphere enveloped the Green Open Space (RTH) of the Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia (UI), as the Color Run with Depor (Cobor) was held for the first time by the Sports Department of the Public Relations Vocational Student Association (HM VokHum) UI. The event, which took place on Sunday morning (September 14, 2025), featured a 5-kilometer fun run from the RTH to the UI grounds with a unique twist that differed from the usual color runs.
With the theme “Splash of Balloons,” this event was designed to be more than just a group run, but also a colorful celebration to strengthen solidarity among students of the UI Vocational Public Relations program. Unlike the usual color run concept, which uses colored powder, Cobor participants were greeted by a splash of balloons filled with colorful liquids and powder along the track to the finish line.

In addition to emphasizing sportsmanship and togetherness, the Color Run with Depor, attended by 25 students, also promoted social and educational values. The theme “Splash of Balloons” embodies the spirit of creating shared happiness while encouraging the younger generation to care for their physical and mental health. This activity also demonstrates concrete support for student participation in the 2025 UI Vocational Olympiad, an annual sports competition at the UI Vocational level, which is participated in by various study programs.
The event was opened by Agung, the Coordinator of the Interest and Talent Division of HM VokHum UI, who expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm for the inaugural event held by the Department of Sports. “We strive to present new innovations through PRestasi as a means of releasing the Public Relations study program contingent towards competitions such as the Vocational Art Competition (VARCO), the Vocational Scientific Olympiad (OIV), and the UI Vocational Olympiad (OLIMVOK), and closed with the excitement of a color run with all Public Relations study program students,” said Agung.
Alicia Ratu Cynthia, one of the participants, said she thoroughly enjoyed the unique experience offered by this year’s color run. She said, “This event was very lively because it was the first program of the Sports Department. Hopefully, this activity will continue and return in the years to come, bringing joy and strengthening bonds between students.”

The Head of the Public Relations Study Program, Mareta Maulidiyanti, S.Sos., M.M., also expressed her appreciation for the positive initiative undertaken by the students. According to her, the Color Run with Depor not only functions as a sporting activity, but also serves as a real-life learning experience in the field of public relations. “This event reflects how students are able to combine creativity, event management, and communication strategies, which are the core of public relations courses. Through activities like this, students not only learn theory in the classroom, but also hone their public communication skills, build engagement, and create meaningful experiences for participants. This is in line with the goal of the UI Vocational Public Relations study program to produce professional, adaptive, and impactful public relations practitioners,” Mareta explained.
Furthermore, the Color Run with Depor activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically point 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), which promotes physical and mental health through enjoyable sports activities. Furthermore, point 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) builds an inclusive and sustainable campus community by strengthening student solidarity.
