Depok-The Universitas Indonesia’s Vocational Education Program has achieved a significant milestone in energy efficiency. Based on the Decree of the Director of the Vocational Education Program Number 75/SK/F14.DV/2023 concerning Energy Conversion, by 2025, all equipment used, both indoors and outdoors, must be upgraded to energy-efficient models. This increases total ownership and use of energy-efficient equipment from 83.81% in 2023 to 100% in 2025.
Several types of electronic equipment now use energy-efficient technology, including LED lights for both indoor and outdoor use, sensor lights, LED TVs, computers, energy-efficient refrigerators, including the latest inverter ACs, and are equipped with practical operations such as motion sensors, timer settings, and manual optimal temperature settings. By achieving 100% use of energy-efficient equipment by 2025, UI Vocational has proven the success of its energy transformation. This step is not only a strategy to reduce the carbon footprint, but also inspires the campus and academic community towards real sustainability.
