Depok-The Vocational Education Program of the Universitas Indonesia (UI) through the Public Relations (PR) study program is again holding PRAction 2025, an annual national competition for high school students, college students, and practitioners throughout Indonesia. PRAction 2025 presents various competition branches, such as public speaking, short videos, and PR campaigns, which will take place throughout April – May 2025. This competition invites the young generation throughout Indonesia to show their skills and creativity in the field of communication related to environmental issues.

This year’s PRAction carries the theme “The Power of Communication: Preserving the Ocean, Eliminate Exploitation”. In its fifth year of PRAction, there is a special collaboration with Makaravox UI, a PR agency that is a teaching factory at UI Vocational, to present the PR Awards.

Makaravox UI PR Awards is a competition for corporations and individuals in innovative communication strategies in Indonesia. The collaboration between Makaravox UI and PRAction was born from the UI academic environment that carries high standards in assessing professionalism, creativity, and real impact in the world of PR. This competition is a form of appreciation for the achievements of companies and public relations practitioners who have contributed to the communication industry. This event presents various categories such as Corporate PR Program, PR Crisis Handling, Government PR, Social Media Management, Corporate Sustainability, to Corporate Website. In addition, appreciation is also given to individuals who have shown excellence in their fields through the categories of PR Student of The Year, PR Rookie of The Year, PR Consultant of The Year, and PR Pro of The Year.

“This year’s theme was chosen as an effort to preserve the sea against global issues, especially excessive exploitation of marine resources. This is also in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SGs) number 14 concerning marine ecosystems and aquatic life. PRAction 2025 invites participants to utilize communication by voicing creative ideas through this competition so that they can increase awareness of the importance of marine conservation,” said Muhammad Mushlih Nugraha, a Public Relations study program student as the Chairperson of the PRAction 2025 Executive Committee.

Furthermore, Mareta Maulidiyanti, S.Sos., M.M., Head of the Public Relations Study Program, said that the implementation of PRAction is a form of implementation of classroom learning from various courses. Mareta said, “PR Action has been held for 4 consecutive years by students as a prestigious national competition that accommodates talents in the field of communication. In 2025, the innovation that was carried out was to present the corporate category with our collaboration with Makaravox UI. We invite various institutions from both government and private to participate in this activity.”

The PRAction 2025 series of events includes an online roadshow, grand opening, technical meeting, competition, grand closing, and awarding. Through these activities, participants not only gain practical experience in compiling and voicing ideas, but also have the opportunity to expand their professional networks. The competition, which has been running since 2020, also offers national certificates to enhance participants’ portfolios through publication of works, award trophies, and prizes worth millions of rupiah.

The implementation of this activity is carried out as a fulfillment of the form of practice of the Special Event Management and Protocol Course by second semester students of the Public Relations study program.
