Depok-Public Relations study program, Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia (UI) through the UI Public Relations Vocational Student Association (HMVOKHUM UI) conducted a company visit to the Blibli office, one of the leading e-commerce companies in Indonesia on September 12, 2024. The company visit aims to provide students with direct insight into corporate communication practices and business strategies in the world of public relations (PR). A total of 58 Public Relations study program students participated in the company visit activity. The industrial visit is one of the practices to deepen several courses, such as Public Relations and Multimedia Script Writing, Stakeholder Relations, and Image Management.
The event began with an introductory session of Blibli Mart as a platform for selling high-quality food products. Students gathered at Blibli Mart, then were invited to tour around and get to know the concept of Blibli Mart which prioritizes product quality and supports cashless transactions through the Blibli application. Next, the group of students continued the office tour activity. Participants were greeted by Blibli, one of whom was Varrel Vendira, Blibli’s Human Capital Communication Strategist, who was the guide for the activity. The tour began by introducing Blibli’s office facilities, from the games corner to the daycare provided for employees’ children as well as Blibli’s sustainability introduction program, namely “Blibli Cinta Bumi.”

In addition to the presentation from Blibli, this event also presented an alumni sharing session by Ajeng Nur Annisa and Gilang Rafi Fahrezi, alumni of the Public Relations study program who now work at Blibli. They shared their experiences about their roles in the company and how the knowledge they gained during their education at UI Vocational was applied in their careers in the real world of public relations. “My message is, being an alumni does not mean the journey is over. Instead, this is the first step to a career. Build relationships, prepare skills, and keep learning because opportunities often come from unexpected directions,” said Gilang.
The event was closed with the handover of souvenirs from HM Vokasi Humas UI to Blibli, as well as a photo session with all participants as a memento of this insightful event. “With this company visit, it is hoped that UI Vocational PR students can enrich their knowledge and prepare themselves better in facing the world of work, especially in the dynamic and ever-growing PR industry.” Dony concluded.
Head of the Public Relations Study Program, Mareta Maulidiyanti, S.Sos., M.M., said that the visit to the industry is one of the learning series in the Public Relations study program. According to her, students will gain new experiences when they see the work process in the industry directly. “The existence of a company visit like this will provide enthusiasm for students to explore the industrial world better. In addition, this experience can also be a provision for them to build relationships, learn, and prepare themselves before internships or when graduating from UI Vocational,” Mareta concluded.
