Production of woven bamboo, such as lamp housings, pencil cases, tumblers, tissue boxes, chairs, tables, and others. This artwork is the main commodity supporting the economic movement in Sidetapa Village.

So that production can be distributed more widely, the quality of production must be maximized and promotional activities also need to be increased. For this reason, through a community service grant of the Directorate of Research and Community Empowerment of the Universitas Indonesia (DPPM UI), the UI Vocational Education Program contributes its knowledge to the community in Sidetapa Village and tourism awareness groups by providing education and socialization related promotions. branding, content creation and marketing through digital platforms, on August 20-23 2022.

The breadth of reach and ease of access make digital platforms a medium that must be taken into account in the marketing process. “The woven bamboo in Sidetapa Village must have a digital platform or platform in order to further expand the range of promotions which will have an impact on improving the economy and welfare of the residents. Attractive promotional content is important in promotional efforts through digital marketing,” said Melisa Bunga Altamira, M.Si., head of the community service team when explaining the topic “Digital Promotional Content in Creative Marketing Strategies”.

Meanwhile, one of the participants, Kadek Warini said, the presentation of the material presented by the devotees was very useful for the development of woven bamboo in Sidetapa Village. “I feel that the material presented can be used to improve the quality of sales and of course also increase knowledge about the importance of digital marketing for all woven bamboo craftsmen here,” said Kadek.

The Director of the UI Vocational Education Program, Padang Wicaksono, S.E., Ph.D, expressed his appreciation for the community service activities that have been carried out. “As an educational institution with applied science, community service activities carried out by the UI Vocational team are a manifestation of the implementation of knowledge that can be applied directly to the community. Hopefully this community service can be useful for the residents of Sidetapa Village in advancing bamboo woven SMEs,” said Padang.
