Biography

Dr. Poeti Nazura Gulfira Akbar, S.T., M.Sc., completed her undergraduate studies at the Urban and Regional Planning Study Program, School of Architecture, Planning and Policy Development, Institut Teknologi Bandung in 2011. Then, Poeti succeeded received the DIKTI Superior Scholarship to continue her master’s studies at Bournemouth University, England in the Tourism Management and Planning study program and successfully graduated in 2013. Poeti also had the opportunity as a scholarship recipient from the Education Fund Management Institute (LPDP) for his doctoral program at Erasmus University Rotterdam, Netherlands in the Urban Governance and Development study program and successfully completed her studies in 2020.

Poeti started her career as a lecturer at the Tourism, Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia in 2014 as a non-permanent lecturer. She actively teaches while conducting various research and publication activities, both nationally and internationally. In addition, she also participated as a journal reviewer, one of which was in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health (IJERPH). She started to join as a permanent lecturer at the Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia in 2019. Poeti has extensive expertise in tourism, particularly planning and development of urban and rural tourism, creative communities, events and festivals, and place-making.
