Depok-The Universitas Indonesia (UI) Vocational Education Program has just held NET GOES TO CAMPUS which presented three experts in the creative industry, namely Regina Chandra, NET Social Media Specialist; Raden Fajar Hadria Putra, IP Ghosty’s Comic; and Jonathan Raharjo, Business Development Manager Facemoji Keyboard. With the theme “Konten (Medsos) Kece Masa Kini”, the event held at the UI Vocational Auditorium on September 2, 2024 was open to all students and the general public.

Regina began her public lecture with an explanation of the importance of the role of content in creating a marketing communication strategy. In addition, content can also function to encourage the audience to interact with us. Regina said, “To build audience loyalty, it is important to create interactive content, such as content that is funny or provokes debate. Such content will make the audience feel close and involved. In addition, content also functions to convey messages and information effectively.”

In line with Regina’s explanation, Fajar revealed that content creation is now much easier because platforms that accommodate content are already spread everywhere, such as TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and others. “Nowadays, anyone can become a public figure, unlike in the past when media for the entertainment business was still very limited. In fact, the term endorsement is starting to be widely used for marketing by Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) or influencers,” explained Fajar.

Fajar also added that to set an endorsement price, one needs to consider the value of the content offered. In addition, the price can also be determined based on the quality of the content and services provided. Finally, one needs to create clear procedures, such as revision limits and endorsement rules, so that clients understand the rules that need to be followed and the work process. In addition, adaptation is also needed according to client needs.

No less important, Jonathan also added that creativity in content creation is the main point to attract audience interest. Jonathan explained, “All social media platforms are interconnected, such as TikTok and Instagram. So, it is important for us to choose the most frequently used and targeted platform. Creativity is the moment when you share ideas, express yourself through jokes, personal content, or other forms of expression.”

In addition to the public lecture, the event also invited the audience to join the excitement of the live report challenge and IG stories challenge. Participants can join the challenge to create IG stories content at the Facemoji Keyboard booth or appear as TV reporters and vloggers. Director of the UI Vocational Education Program, Padang Wicaksono, S.E., Ph.D, said that the public lecture was a collaboration between UI Vocational and industry in the form of teaching. “Through the public lecture that presents industry experts, it is hoped that students can absorb a lot of knowledge to be their provisions during internships or after graduating from UI Vocational,” concluded Padang.
