\"\"<\/a>Bandung – Located in Cimareme Village, Ngamprah, West Bandung, the Vocational Education Program of the University of Indonesia runs the Community Economic Strengthening program through Thematic Villages for 4 months. The focus of the activity lies in coaching Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in terms of marketing and financial recording as well as coaching local art groups, namely Pencak Silat. Marsdenia, the Chairperson of Community Service, said that efforts to improve the local economy were carried out through MSMEs and Arts. “There are a lot of home industries and art groups that run independently and have not received optimal guidance, even though Cimareme has the potential to progress with its distinctive products,” said Marsdenia. The UI Vocational Team conducts a series of programs to strengthen MSMEs, both product marketing and MSME financial reporting. Marsdenia said that there were 19 fostered MSMEs who received assistance in the preparation of good financial statements and marketing programs. MSMEs involved include culinary entrepreneurs of buffalo skin (narogdog), potato chips, shredded beef, shredded chicken and handicrafts such as handbags made of batik. “With a good recording program and clear financial statements, it is hoped that it will be easier for entrepreneurs to obtain additional capital either from investors, banks or BUMDes,” said Marsdenia. As a marketing medium, the UI Vocational Team also facilitates MSMEs to produce profiles which are then aired on Village Hall TV and on the Cimareme Village MSME (https:\/\/cimaremevbcd.wixsite.com\/) website. Through this website, the products offered can be known by the wider community. <\/p>\n

\nIn the Monday field, the Community Service Team focused on the art of Pencak Silat which is typical of this area. Coaching is provided in the form of providing a set of drum musical instruments as well as support for regular practice. “Previously, they rented equipment if they were invited to perform in villages, we hope that with the availability of their own drum equipment, it can encourage the spirit and consistency of training so that Pencak Silat Cimareme will be more known,” said Marsdenia. For training assistance, the team is supported by a group of cultural arts coaches in Ngamprah District, West Bandung. <\/p>\n

\nThroughout 2019, the UI Vocational Education Program carried out 41 community service programs which are Grant programs of the Directorate of Research and Community Service of the University of Indonesia.
