Devie Rahmawati was attended by more than 350 participants from various universities in Jakarta. “This activity is very important considering the hoax storm that has hit all joints of political, social, health, science, finance, natural disasters and others. This storm occurred because based on studies, hoaxes circulate more and more widely than correct information. Vokom wants students to become promoters of positive messages so that they can exceed the number of hoaxes that continue to be produced,” said Devie who studied in Swansea, England.

“After summarizing the results of various studies in the world on how to get rid of hoaxes, we drew the conclusion that more personal figures of students who are PATIENT are needed, namely always refraining from spreading news and verifying. Observe every news received, not immediately consumed. Dare to speak up to others to be careful. Actively updating existing information and technology, so that it is not easily carried away by the flow of hoaxes. Meanwhile, the Chairman of KPI, Yuliandre added that the institution he leads only regulates the world of broadcasting. “Information from internet platforms is difficult to audit. KPI itself has never meant to hinder creativity. In fact, every sanction given by KPI is intended to remind and to make improvements,” said Andre. Meanwhile, Romano reminded that the current generation should focus on connecting more friendships, not just focusing on gadgets and forgetting the surrounding environment. The same message was also conveyed by Sinshe Lim, that students who are the backbone of society and the state must be able to have a meticulous, analytical and anticipatory attitude, in order to stem the influence of hoaxes.
