Depok – Global investment in intangible assets such as Intellectual Property<\/em> (IP) or commonly known as Intellectual Property (IP) will increase to 13.6% of total investment in 2024. Based on the IP Outlook 2025 report, IP (including copyrights, trademarks, designs, and others) is one of the economic drivers in Indonesia. This is evident from the growth of IP applications reaching 18.5% per year over the past decade. Following this development, the Master of Applied Creative Industries study program, Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia (UI), presented Andreas Prasetya, CEO of XD Collective, to share his experience in the creative industry through a guest lecture on September 24, 2025 held in the lecture room of the Master of Applied Creative Industries UI Vocational. <\/p>\n

In his presentation, Andreas discussed the importance of IP and digitalization as the main foundation of the creative industry. He argued that IP registration can act as a “shield” that protects a work. Furthermore, for a product to penetrate the market, a “sword<\/g>” is needed in the form of business strategies such as product development, branding<\/g>, marketing, networking, and pitching<\/g>. Andreas also emphasized the importance of sound financial management and tax compliance for the sustainable growth of creative businesses. <\/p>\n

XD Collective, a company led by Andreas, is known as a brand and experience design<\/em> consultancy focused on visual identity development, communication strategy, and digital monetization. XD Collective has collaborated with various local and international companies to develop creative assets that have a real impact on business growth. <\/p>\n

Andreas further emphasized that branding<\/em> strategy is key to building a company’s reputation amidst the competitive creative industry. He believes that branding<\/em> is not just about a logo or visual identity, but also about how a company conveys its values, maintains consistent communication, and builds emotional connections with its audience. “Strong branding<\/em> will create a lasting experience for consumers and encourage repeat orders<\/em>,” he said. <\/p>\n

The Head of the Creative Industries Applied Masters Study Program, Dr. Dewi Kartika Sari, S.E., M.S.Ak., CA., said that the guest lecturer’s lecture was integrated with the Creative Industries Selected Chapters course. Ika said, “This course is one of the courses designed to provide direct perspectives from industry practitioners. In accordance with the course’s objectives, we hope that students are able to conduct applied research, combining the latest concepts, theories, and practices in the creative industry business. So, they can produce work in the creative industry sector later. The presence of Mr. Andreas with his experience and insight in the creative industry provides a real picture of how the concept of IP protection can be applied in the world of work.”<\/p>\n

Salsa Dewani, a student in the Master of Applied Creative Industries program, said she felt she gained new insights after attending the guest lecture. “The material presented by Andreas provided new insights, especially on how to view IP not just as a means of protecting works, but as a strategic asset in the creative industry.
