Depok – The National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI) as the organizer of the national archives carry out the publication of the Archival Journal as mandated by Law No.43 of 2009 concerning Archives. For this reason, ANRI collaborates with the Information and Document Management Study Program of the Vocational Education Program Universitas Indonesia to improve the quality of Archives Journals by holding archival journal workshops in the Intraco VC Room, University of Indonesia Vocational Education Program.

“We hope that this workshop activity will trigger the improvement of the quality of the Archives Journal that we publish,” said M. Sumitro, Head of the ANRI Archival System Research and Development Center at the opening of the event. Participants in this workshop came from a heterogeneous group, namely archivist functional officials, statutory designers and researchers who have different educational backgrounds, students of the Program Document Information Management study program, Vocational Education, master students of Library Science Studies and Archival Information Study Program of Universitas Indonesia. In addition, this activity was also attended by participants who like, have, are learning to write, especially in the form of journals so that the workshop is expected to provide information about good and quality journal writing.

Workshop presentations were given by researchers from LIPI Sri Hartinah; Yanwar Pribadi, a teaching staff from Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin University Banten; Toto Widyarsono, historian from the Society of Indonesian Historians; and Dyah Safitri, head of the Information and Document Management study program of the UI Vocational Education Program. It is jointly recognized that a journal or scientific work will produce policy-relevant knowledge through a research or assessment and development unit. “With an emphasis on practice, the MID study program develops applied research in the field of archives so that it will directly benefit the organization and management of archives,” said Dyah Safitri, Chair of the Information and Document Management Study Program of the Vocational Education Program Universitas Indonesia.

In this workshop, tips and tricks to penetrate the ANRI Archival Journal criteria were also given as well as motivating participants to participate in scientific writing. The systematics of scientific writing is also underlined in this workshop to ensure that scientific journals are made in accordance with the rules of scientific work.
