Depok-Students of Multimedia Broadcasting Study Program, Vocational Education Program, Universitas Indonesia (UI), won second place (Most Intrigue Idea) in the Non-Drama TV Program Proposal Design Competition (Tell A Vision) held by Epicentrum Universitas Padjadjaran. The students are Intania Ayumirza Farrahani, Muhammad Reza Nur Hakim, and Rizka Farah Diba Dianti, who are members of a group called Agents. They offer a variety show program designed to answer the challenges of implementing Distance Learning (PJJ), especially in 3T (Terdepan, Terpencil, Tertinggal) regions that have not been touched by equal access to electricity, internet, and education.

Epicentrum is the largest annual international communication festival in Indonesia, organized by the Faculty of Communication, Universitas Padjadjaran, as an effort to find solutions to national problems in Indonesia. The activity, which has been held from February to May 2021, was attended by associate degree until bachelor degree level students.

With the theme “Education within Television”, the participants were asked to design a non-drama television program with an educational theme. The program design is expected to be executed as a learning medium, especially for children, through creative and interesting educational content.

After submitting a program design entitled Program Agents, the UI Vocational Team made it into the top four. Reza Nur Hakim, the leader of the Agents team, explained that Agents provide lessons like solving a case as a secret agent. “Students will be invited to explore a variety of sciences with attractive packaging. This concept is expected to stimulate curiosity about the material,” said Reza.

In addition, this program can educate elementary school students about learning materials in school and outside of school, as well as support distance learning programs (PJJ). “With this distance learning concept, students from all over the country can meet in one room, in support of the concept of diversity,” said Intania. The Agents team hopes that this program can minimize the education gap in Indonesia and provide equal opportunities for students to participate in each episode.

Head of Multimedia Broadcasting Study Program, Arius Krypton Onarelly, M.Si said that by participating in the competition, students can apply the theory they have learned on campus. “With a curriculum of 70% practice and 30% theory, of course, it really helps students to be creative and produce designs in the media sector, especially television. For this competition, many students use the skills taught in the Non-Drama Television Program course,” said Arius.[:]
